The annual conference of the African Chapter of  the World Aquaculture Society, Aquaculture 2025, was successfully held at the Speke Resort Munyonyo, Entebbe from 24th to 29th June. It was one of the best attended, with considerable business transacted at the booths, and good interactions between policy holders, fish farmers, academics and service providers from 77 countries. Organizers and participants expressed confidence that the impact of the conference will be felt for quite some time. Below, we bring you some images from the conference.

The Association organized the first of a series of training courses for fish farmers on 29th and 30th April at Weija, in collaboration with three major agencies – the Fisheries Commission, the Environmental Protection Authority, the Water Resources Commission, and the FAO.

The Festival, the main event, comes off at the CSIR Food Research Institute, Accra on 24th and 25th July, 2025.
It will comprise a Food Expo, at which all kinds of tilapia and catfish delicacies will be on show, at moderate prices, for you to enjoy at the venue, and to take home.
There will be a Conference on the theme Innovation in Ghanaian and African Aquaculture, with presentations by local and international resource persons. The Special Feature will be the launch of the TILAPIA AND CATFISH FRIDAY, which will enjoin every Ghanaian to enjoy tilapia and catfish delicacies every Friday.

This morning, Hon. Emelia Arthur, Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, welcomed the executives of the Ghana National Association of Aquaculture to her office.
